The mountains
behind Jeamy and JP’s house are the Chartreuse. Looking from their house, the sun glints off the fort on the
summit of the nearest peak, which we visited.
From the summit
you can see other summits, including Mont Blanc on the horizon to the right of
the spruce.
Notice the
exposure … it is straight down to the valley floor. Notice the guardrail.
You’re right. There isn’t one.
Further into
the mountains is the Chartreuse Monastery, home of the famed green liqueur.
There are only 9 friars living there today and Chartreuse is now made closer to
Grenoble
It’s so quiet
and peaceful in the mountains behind the monastery, the only sound is cowbells.
And the
beautiful Belledonne range is across the valley from the Chartreuse
