It's a Party!

Tomoko and Dan repeated their wedding vows for the third time on August 4th. This time in Tokyo, so Tomoko's family and friends could celebrate with them. It was great fun!! Here are a few of the snapshots.

The party was held at Meguro Gajoen, a beautiful hotel dedicated the high art of hosting weddings.

It was hard not to dawdle looking at the beautiful entry, but there was a party to get to!

Signs made it easy to find our way.

Tomoko and Dan chose to wear traditional Japanese dress. They both looked great!

Although Dan may look happier about it at this moment, it's probably because he hasn't actually gotten his feet all the way into his "slippers" (zori).

Ladies Wear

Makiko Ogawa (Tomoko's mother) happily shows her beautiful kimono that she brought for Julie to wear. Julie loved the luxurious look and feel of the silk and was very honored that Makiko offered it.

As Tomoko turns to talk with one of her friends, you can see the magnificent knot her obi (sash) has been tied in.

The Ogawa family adds a Snyder: Makiko, Tomoko, Dan and Akio.

Note the beautiful painting behind these family photos. It is just one of many in the building.

And the Snyder family adds an Ogawa: Dave, Larry, Tomoko, Dan and Julie.

Dan still hasn't gotten his feet all the way into his "slippers", and Julie has given hers up (with everyone else) for the sake of the tatami mats.

We apologize for the fuzziness of this photo, but even a perfectly focused one wouldn't do justice to this great buffet.

Of course, everything was very tasty, especially the sashimi!

Tomoko and Dan repeated a portion of their vows, and showed a great DVD they made of photos from their pre-marriage lives. But the grandest moment came at the cutting of the cake!

This was done with spotlight, fanfare, and a great flourish!

Everyone gathered post-party for a group photo on the lobby stairs.

There seems to be genuine delight that after three (3!) parties, Dan and Tomoko are officially, definitely, for sure married!

Tomoko and Dan pose for one final photo in the gorgeous hotel gardens. This was more difficult than you might expect considering it was in the mid 30's C (mid 90's F) outside and very humid.

Note: Dan is still having a problem with those slippers!
