STOKR is a 98 mile (160 Km) bicycle ride through the mountains of Western Montana. The
route goes up over a steep
mountain pass. These riders have just reached the summit. It's all down hill from here!
Because it was a heavy snow year in Montana, highway 559 was still covered with snow, and needed to
be plowed specially for the race.
The riders will speed down the mountain from the summit, making it
important to sweep the loose gravel from the road and to mark the areas
of rough pavement. x We watched for potholes both coming and going.
The riders left Libby at 8:00 AM and the first rider was expected at our mountain top stop at 12:30, but he showed up
at a record breaking 11:58. He didn't even appear to be out of breath! Almost all other riders stopped to snack and chat. A total of 252 riders made it to our summit stop, and the last ones left by 3:15 PM. Everyone had a good time, and Habitat for Humanity is a few thousand dollars closer to building their next house.STOKR - Scenic Tour Of Kootenai River

Did he stop for cookies and juice? Ha! He shot by waving to us, because he knew in 11 miles there would be
the huckleberry pie stop.
