To celebrate the completion of Principles of Parallel Programming, we went out for Chinese
food ... in Taipei. Just before lunching at the squid restaurant we visited Longshan Temple, which has this beautiful
waterfall in its entry.
Actually, we're in front of the first of three torrents, 25 feet (8 meters) above a sparkling koi pond.
Despite the tranquility of this corner, the temple was teeming with activity. We hope to post more photos
from the trip soon.

Would you believe 7 years have passed since our last sabbatical? We
will leave on 1 July 2008 for a year, and follow this itinerary:
Vancouver Canada (2 months), Tokyo Japan (3 months), Perth Australia (3
months), Cordoba Argentina (2 weeks), and Nicosia Cyprus (3 months).
And, at which stop can we expect you to visit? [If you know anybody who
wants to rent our house, let us know!]
We are sad to report that our friend Imura Satoshi died in December, 2007 at the age of 39.
