Thanks for clicking on our page. Check it out. After you look at our latest news, send us email and tell us your news. As you probably know, our address is: snydder -- that's with two d's, one for Dan and one for Dave -- @earthlink.net. Of course, the stuff in italics isn't part of the email address, it's just in there to fool email address scavengers. Welcome! Seattle is a sophisticated city. True, there are all of the professional sports teams like the Mariners, SeaHawks and Super Sonics, but mostly people go to the opera, the symphony, the art museums, one of the dozen theaters, two of which are Tony Award winners, or any of the other high brow entertainments. So, what are these people doing?
They are playing Whirly Ball. It's basketball played in bumper cars. A bumper car is an electric car designed to hit other bumper cars. They get their power from those silver strips on the floor. The game doesn't use a basketball. It uses a wiffle ball (see player in car 25); you catch and throw the ball with the basket. Scoring is like basketball: 2 points when close to the basket, 3 points farther back. In the picture (from left) is our niece Stephanie Paradee, Larry (car 12), Jim Shadle (car 24), Stephanie's daughter, Anna Paradee, and our nephew Eric Shadle (car 25). News and Notes
