Email Quote of Note
A friend from France just became a New Zealand citizen and commented "For a strong
French republican it took a while to get used to the idea of swearing allegiance
to a Queen! (The English missed a revolution!)"

Welcome!
November is usually a bad month in Seattle with many storms, and this was a record breaking bad
November (see below). But, it is also the month of our Christmas tree cutting tradition. We had a nice
outing last year. This year may have been even better!
Here's Julie in 16 inch (41 cm) of fresh powder. She has her saw and is hunting for a grand
Grand Fir. It's tough work because the trees are so snow covered it is difficult to see if they
will be good Christmas trees.
News and Notes
Dave joined Tomoko and Dan in Galesburg for the Thanksgiving holiday. They report
having had a good time, but they obiously didn't have enough to do. If you are familiar
with our October Web page, then
see their parody of that page.
This portrait shows the Web Masters with their laptop computer, probably thinking up new
ways to have fun at our expense.
The weather in Seattle during November was terrible, as our rain chain proves.
We set a record for the rainest month since record keeping began (1891).
Almost 16 inches (41 cm), which may not seem like much for a place that is famous for rain.
But, remember that our rain usually falls as mist. We also had a week of freezing temperatures
and snow. This is also unusual for people who normally spend a mild winter
under a cloud blanket near the ocean.
We need to show one more picture of this year's Christmas tree cutting party.
This is Brian Paradee, our grandnephew, exubrantly racing out to the place where we will
build our bonfire. His excitment is obvious from the flying snow. A few minutes later he discovered that the
powder was so fluffy, he could fall face-first into the snow!
The snow is gone! It's safe to stop by.
