In case you missed it, the XXI Olympic Winter Games were held last month in Vancouver BC.
Ice-side at Women's Curling: J, L and Noelle
We joined our friend Noelle Lamb to watch Women's Curling. Why curling? It was a Canadian Olympics and curling is as Canadian as hockey. And, judging from all the people we met, probably more people in Canada curl than participate in any other sport.
News & Notes
Dave has taken a new job, Farm Director. Yes, he still lives in Chicago. His "farm" is an urban garden, and it is located on the roof of a building. The building houses the Uncommon Ground Restaurant. The purpose of a garden on the roof is not to maximize bushels per acre -- they already do that pretty well in the Midwest -- but to pioneer new ways of sustainability and organic techniques in the city. He's very excited with spring just around the corner. [Photo from Uncommon Ground Web Site.]

Dan took a research trip to Hantsport, Nova Scotia to check out their 350 million year old fossil fish, Letognathus. Normally, Dan studies "dead stuff with big teeth." This time it seems to be "dead stuff with lots of teeth."
As we said last time our grand niece Anna Paradee is winning gymnastic competitions all over Washington. This time we have a picture of her in motion! [Photo courtesy Stephanie Paradee.]

We are now the proud owners of a condominium in Vancouver! We will have more pictures as soon as the furniture is delivered.
A Room With A View
It is time for the garden's spring cleaning. One duty is to vacuum up last year's seeds from the Styrax japonica.
