In February, driving to SEATAC airport in the midst of a snowstorm to take a flight to Hong Kong, our cute little red Jeep got 'rear-ended' and pushed into a pickup truck. No one was injured, but the car was totaled. Though saddened to lose the Jeep, we were encouraged to remember the fun we had driving our Mazda RX-7 back in the 80's. So, we chose a Mazda MX-5 (a/k/a Miata). Red. Convertible. Several people have questioned whether we're too old for a "mid-life crisis," but that depends on how long one expects to live!

News & Notes
For nearly two decades Beach Day has been a tradition with our nieces' and nephew's families. It's a time to play in the sunshine at the Blue Ridge Beach. To wade or swim in the surf. Relax. And, if you are Cole, even get buried in the sand by your dad Eric.

Brendan's theater company Pony World is presenting a new play called "American Archipelago". The play is collaboratively written. Formulated as a neighborhood block party, the interactions range from disputes over one character's chickens to highly emotional arguments between spouses, both straight and gay. It was a very enjoyable evening of theater.

We worked in a visit to Libby to see Jim and Julie. It was a little early for huckleberry picking, but the drive through the gorgeous Cabinet Mountains checking out their progress was terrific. In fact at some points it became downright hilarious.

Our friends Jeamy and Peter Feran were visiting from Thames, New Zealand. They were happy to be in the warm, balmy Pacific Northwest, because in the Southwest of the Pacific where they live, the weather is like ours ... only six months out of phase. Following a delightful lunch we enjoyed tea at their family home in Bellevue.

Redwood City CA friends Carl and Lynne were in town, too. We scored a picnic and a lunch with them. Unfortunately, no one's camera was out for either of those two most enjoyable events.
Chrissy Courtney, artist and friend from Charleston WV, was in Seattle to sightsee, to check out how cool the Emerald City is as a place to one day call home, and to join us for lunch. It was a delightful opportunity to catch up.
