Seasons Greetings! Best wishes for 2009.
In warmer climates, people take a whole different approach to Christmas decorations. This lovely tree in a plaza in Singapore typifies the use of non-traditional colors and materials. It's much more suitable to the hot weather. (They still play the same carols, recorded in the 1970s.)
News & Notes
We had a tremendous time in Singapore. Details here.
We are now in Perth, Australia, known as the most remote city in the world. We have connected to the Internet, so how remote can it be? We've also rented this townhouse (see Contact for particulars), at the synapse of Axon and York Streets. L's made it to the University of Western Australia and J's found the Farmer's Market. We're up and running.
Out back -- meaning our patio, not central Australia -- we have two bougainvillea plants, so we've dubbed the place Bougainvillea Lodge, much to the amusement of the rental agency. There have been some changes in our lives, and there's also been a change for Devin Christie! With or without tooth, you have to agree she's incredibly adorable. (Some you may recall (click here) the announcement of her birth on this page in 2003.)
